Choice Stingers

Leaving you with a couple of Stingers on this lovely January afternoon.

Some heavy hitting dancefloor stingers here which you should not miss.  Zing Country.  Check out the absolutely massive bassline on Off Recordings' release of Berlin based Nicone's killer track "Why".  I simply love Brazil based Toucan's recent release on BUBBA & Chris James' Running Wild digital label - - I just cannot get sick of that catchy bassline.  Fuck yeah.

Not even a massive chunk of ice would stop this boat outta BelfastPulse's Christian Murphy just put together this great article on our boy Jonny Smyth aka B.U.B.B.A. featuring a jamming little podcast and an insightful interview where you'll learn how he had coffee get him from young Irish boyhood to world-class producerhood and as of late, budding label ownershiphood.  I'm really glad I finally sat down to check out his roots and early sound, proving his experimental and humbling approach to music.  Bubba's stay here at the Deep North HQ was an absolute delight and we can't wait to have this legendary producer, sessioner and general good dude back in check the interview, mix & these two neat little new tunes.

A Mean, Mean, Edge.

This is what Amine Edge is.

Amine Edge is back at it again this week with another banger of a promo mix which I came across on his soundcloud page.  If you don't know about this guy yet then get your learn on by listening to this heavily loaded mix first, which is so hot it got over 1000 plays in a single day. You can quickly download this mix by clicking here.

AMINE EDGE - MAY 2012 PROMO MIX >>> [Download it]

Below I have included some soundcloud links and youtube videos - - you should really check Amine's YouTube Channel, just to give you a bit more of an ideaabout how insanely bonkers this Frenchman's production is.  After all, one quick look at his releases page on any major digital retailer will show that this guy only fucks with the best.  Top class game, and he works harder then most - - so deal with the promo tracks and buy the originals here on Beatport.

Biggups Amine!

Mix Me Some Diddies

Some mixes from Amine Edge, Sean Roman, Jeff Button, Dick Diamonds and The Hermans.

Some mixes for you all to enjoy from our crew and friends!

Amine Edge is one of the hottest producers out there right now in my opinion, and the guy keeps producing fire, fire, fire.  Here is his latest mix, and when you are done with that one, check out this huge cache of Amine mixes from 2004 - 2012 right here.  Visit his soundcloud and follow him for access to at least 10 free remixes and edits.  Don't Say I never told you any good secrets.

Our homeboy DJ Jeff Button sent us this mix he made while drinking beers and pissing off the neighbours the other day.  Three hours of fun from the man behind the popular DigDeep Podcast Series, which recently released a new exclusive mix by Carlo Lio.  Check that.

This is a new mix by Max the Fax and I (Dick Diamonds), aka The Hermans.  Dark, dirty tunes that loosely fit the techno and deep house categories.   This one contains productions by both of us, one of which is unreleased!  Check out more from us on the Deep North Soundcloud.  Done completely on the fly without any prior thought.

Another Deep North Crew mix by myself, Dick Diamonds here called Grape Seed Nightmares - - explained on my soundcloud - - which has been getting quite a bit of play, and is one of my better mixes done on the fly without any pre-game thought.

The Deep North's heavy hitter Sean Roman dropped this little mix for the Gotta Dance Dirty blog a couple of months ago, and as usual - - it does not dissapoint.  Check out Sean's Soundcloud for more of his amazing production work and mixes.

Bass Bin BUBBA

We don't know what they mean by Pig City. But BUBBA is the Baron of Bass.

Like, Wu-Tang is good - - but BUBBA is the best.

This sweet little sampler of Pig City's release on Italy's Zoo:Technique label.  The first two songs are nothing but a display of bass terror, especially the second tune which is a remix by BUBBA, and shows why the Irish producer is infamous for dropping basss bombs upon all crowds he encounters.  Get ready people, because our pal Bubba is coming to Toronto in mid April to show us how to shake the dancefloor.  It's tunes like these that remind me every time, why exactly I have named this man the Baron of Bass.

Keep your eyes open for his new label Running Wild with producer Chris James  of the duo Coat of Arms.  RW001 is on it's way and here is a sample of the first release, due out soon. Dick Diamonds
