Amiga Bounce

Check out this hyper catchy track by retro-lover Legowelt - - my favourite track made on an Amiga 1200 computer.   The tune is called "Driving Through An Amiga Forest" and you can read a nice review on 2009's Amiga Railroad Adventures on the Mishka blog right over here.  Music for moving those buns.

Children & Snakes

Germany's Tensnake is back with more amazing music, this time with the ultra-catchy tune "Something About You", set to be released on Beatport June 20th.  The Snake uploaded the Official video on YouTube just five days ago and it already has nearly 40,000 views, an amazing in itself.  I personally think this one is a certifiable banger and I simply cannot wait to cop & drop this bad boy in one of my sets.  Feel that greasy bassline and imagine how it would push you across the dancefloor in a hot, sticky, sweat.  This bit is hot stuff for real, although the video - - directed by Pondr - - totally creeps me out.  Hipster Kindergarten clubbing that would scare any parent to death.

You can cop the track along with a few others on limited-print vinyl here, at the VinylFactory.

Twin Beats

Game changer.  That is definitely one way to describe famous American filmmaker, television director, visual artist, musician and part-time actor David Lynch.  The 65 year old Academy Award nominee has been making music for a long time, but lately he has kicked his production game to a whole new level of cool - - producing killer tech house tracks like Good Day Today, released on Rob da Bank's Sunday Best Recordings.

Although this tune does proceed more linearly than most of Lynch's neo-noir surrealist works, this track definitely does not lack the dream-like feel and intricate sound design and layering characteristic of the filmmakers unique "Lynchian" style.  What really grips me about this one is how upbeat the tune sounds on the surface - - while the listener cannot help but feel the pervasive melancholy that follows them throughout the entirety of the track.  Make sure you have a good day, today.

Growing So Slowly

Benoit & Sergio have been making some big waves in the electronic music scene lately. Although the Paris/Chicago duo have only a few releases under their belt, we haven't heard one that didn't get us moving.  From vocal house rollers taking cues from the likes of artists like Paul Simon - - with an original heartfelt sound reminiscent of hot summer nights -- to deep organic techno tracks filled with thick, dreamy synths and sounds you could chew on, these guys seem to provide it all.  I have chosen to share one track to spark your interest in this dynamic duo but highly recommend that you head over to the music retailer of your choice and grab everything you can from these guys.

Full Grown Man was released on Feb 21 2011 on DFA Records as part of the "Boy Trouble" EP.

Music = Life

This is a beautiful version of Music is My Life by Chicago's Felix Da Housecat, but I cannot seem to find much information on this particular version as it differs a bit from the Original Mix.  The Original was released in September of 2008 on Music For Your Ears US.  If anyone knows where we can get more information on this tune, or even this elusive label, please don't be shy and leave us a comment - - we would love to know!
