ELEC-G-CUTE.: We Welcome GCue
Catch our newest team member and brother this Sunday playing b2b with Dick Diamonds at LATE & DIP, a pool party mixed with a rave. Click the picture of baby bobber GCue to visit the event page.
GCue [pronounced "G-Q") is the stage name of a very good friend of ours, Gerard Valdez. GCue is a handle that is known by almost any house head in our city, a name that carries nothing but good vibes and respect wherever it is heard. Gerrard is a lethal veteran on the decks with 20 years of experience as a selector (he began spinning at the tender age of 13). Spinning anything from classic, jackin' house to deep, seedy house tracks and greased-out techno bangers, Gerard knows how to adapt to any crowd or situation. Call him up to go b2b2b with you and he will likely show you up. What is propably most commendable about GCue is his amazing personality which is characterized by his ever-present positive attitude, political neutrality and benevolent desire to do what is best for the scene of Toronto.
We have known GCue for a bit over a year now (I think I met him first at Late & Deep #5) and he has always been that guy - - along with Sid Frisk - - who you want on your team because he has so much to offer. While we do not need to butter up his abilities behind the wheels, we must make a point of noting that this guy is a killer, and an amazing asset to our family-like crew. After all, you cannot just build a strong team by simply putting together heavily skilled artists who share little in common and have weak interpersonal bonds and lackluster chemistry together. A real team is born first from good chemistry and massive potential skill, which is realized as the cohesive unit works together in an emotionally driven and highly motivated manner as brothers, sisters and good friends. GCue is exactly the kind of person that fits this Deep North description of a team member, and we are happy to welcome him to the crew. We look forward to a long run together.
Check out GCue's soundcloud page as well as his Facebook, Twitter and Resident Advisor pages after you have given this little nasty mix of heat nugs a spin. If you didn'y know, now you know.
